Mission Inn 2011

Wow, what a weekend! Sabbath afternoon: I am so glad that many of you showed up for the singing band at the Reche Canyon Rehab and Health Center. I know it was a bit rainy and cold on Sabbath afternoon, but you still showed up. Thank you to all the parents who provided transportation. I believe that the residents, staff, nurses, and other visitors at the center were blessed by your songs, poem, and instrumental numbers. It was wonderful to see and hear you interact with the residents after we sang. Some of those residents don't get a lot of visitors. Thank you for being willing to reach out to them in your own special ways. Sunday morning: We thank God for answering our prayers for good weather -- the weather was perfect for our Mission Inn Run. I am so proud of all of you -- Pathfinders and parents and friends. The fundraiser was a great success. Thank you!! Director Mike Azure Hills Pathfinder Club Next meeting December 7, 2011 – Wednesday, 6:30 pm, CMC 1

Outreach Activity at Reche Canyon Rehab Center

The residents of Reche Canyon Rehab Center had a musical treat this past Saturday. The Pathfinders sang and played their instruments and at the end interacted with all of them. Thank you to the parents who were present and sang with us. Good job Pathfinders! May God bless you all and continue developing your musical talents for His honor and glory and for the good of others. See below for the pictures of this event.

Lets sing this Sabbath!

Hello Pathfinders and Parents, This coming Sabbath afternoon is our singing band program for the residents of Reche Canyon Health and Rehab Center. Click here for the program. If you see your name on the program and you are unable to participate, please let me know ASAP. For the instrumental numbers on the program, please play the piece you played for either the Earliteen Concert or for church. If there is an asterisk next to your name, it is because I am requesting you to contact the rest of your group and confirm the piece you will play and to remind the group to bring their instruments and music sheets. We will bring some stands from the church. We will meet at the church in the fellowship hall at 1:30 pm sharp. We would like to be at the center before 2pm to set up. Since this is an off campus activity, a consent form will need to be filled out for each pathfinder. Please print out a consent form from here, fill it out, and bring it to the church. Thank you! Director Mike

Camping trip this weekend! Are you ready?

Pathfinders and Parents, 1) It seems that many of you were unable to open the packing list sent via email. Here is the link to it 2) We have finalized the list and the tent and campsite assignments. We managed to fit everyone who signed up in a campsite. 3) Pathfinder check-in is @ campsite 63. We plan on being there by 4pm. Sun sets at ~ 6:25pm. The Pathfinders will need to be there with enough time to set up their tents before it gets dark. Remember to bring your consent forms (if you haven't submitted one yet), payment (if not yet paid), and sack dinner. 4) Reminder: We are trying to go green this year, which means, everyone coming (not just the pathfinders) will need to bring their own eating utensils and dinnerware (i.e. plates, forks, spoons, cups, mugs, refillable water bottles). 5) Just in case you couldn't open the announcement sheet sent yesterday or if you were unable to pick one up at wednesday's meeting, here is a copy of it. Pathfinders' Sabbath

Pathfinder's Sabbath Click on picture for photo album The Pathfinders were responsible for the second service on Sabbath May 14, 2011. They participated in all parts of the program and played and sang the song "I know the plans I have for you" by LordSong. Pastor John Brunt's sermon (Kids did it) reminded us that no matter how young or old you are, there is always something you can do to make a difference in the life of others. He told us about many instances when kids made things that initially seem small and insignificant but at the end became a wonderful project and made a lot of difference to the community. This was officially the last activity of the Pathfinders' Club for the year 2010-2011. Enjoy your summer vacation and we will see you all in August for another exciting year.

50-mile Bike Ride

Wow! It was really intense! The weather of the first day of May was perfect. Clear skies and comfortable temperature. A little wind, but not as much as yesterday (Saturday, April 30th). Seven Pathfinders and one Adventurer (soon to join the Pathfinders) completed all 50 miles by riding their bikes all the way to Norco in Riverside and back. Congratulations to all! We are really proud of your accomplishment. After the ride, they had a well deserved lunch at Souplantation. Directors Mike and Ellen gave each Pathfinder their honor patch for biking so they can place them at their sashes for Pathfinder Sabbath service. Thank you to all parents who came to support the event. The water and snacks stations were life savers as they provided most needed energy to the riders. Pathfinders Investiture - Sabbath April 30, 2010 Congratulations to all Pathfinders who completed their honors.

El Capitan State Beach Camping

What a fun time it was, and what a wonderful weather... The Pathfinders once more enjoyed the beautiful scenary of Santa Barbara and Goleta, CA. Some Pathfinders were not able to go with us this year but the ones who did we are pretty sure they enjoyed it very much. Enjoy the pictures! Here is a letter from Director Mike: Dear Pathfinders and Pathfinder Parents, I hope you all have had a good week. I was proud to see all of you participate during our El Capitan campout. All the cooking, dishwashing, and camp duties were done well. Your tents were neat and tidy (for the inspections at least). You all have used your camping skills to set up and properly put away the tents and camping equipment. Most of all, you took the challenge of being responsible not only for yourselves but for each other. It was nice to see the beauty of the beach and surrounding hills, all your smiling faces, and watching each of you cook your bread on a stick meal!! A special thanks goes out to the Ashlock family

Presidential Fitness - April meeting

Presidential Fitness Click on picture for photo album Congratulations to all Pathfinders who accomplished the "Presidential Level" in the Presidential Fitness Challenge. The Physical Fitness Test recognizes the participants for their level of physical fitness in five activities: Curl-ups, Shuttle run/walk, Pull-ups, V-sit reach. Completing all five activities is an accomplishment and we are proud of all of you Pathfinders.

Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing Click on picture for Photo Album The Pathfinders had a lot of fun this last Sunday (March 20th) at Tresh Hold Climbing and Fitness Center in Riverside. About 20 Pathfinders participated on this activity and all of them were excited learning how to belay and tie proper knots into their harness. We all learned how to trust each other since we had to "let go of the wall" and hang from the rope while our partner at the bottom would slowly lower us.
Recent Activities of the Club Here are the photo albums from some of the most recent activities of the Club: January 2011 meeting Game Night Ski Day March 2011 meeting During our March monthly meeting the Pathfinders learned some camping skills that will be very useful not only for the upcoming Spring camping activity in Santa Barbara (El Capitan State Beach Campground) but also for the rest of their lives.
