Silverwood Lake Camping

Silverwood Lake 2009 - Click on picture to see more the photo album Pathfinders who attended this last weekend's camping trip will never forget the experience. The camping was going well as planned, pathfinders had done their hiking in a beautiful day with a perfect weather, and once back in the campground on Sabbath afternoon we all got surprised by an enormous smoke cloud coming our direction. After discussing the possibilities and not knowing how far the fire was from our campground, the leadership decided to transfer the camping location to our church's "campground" (Fellowship Hall). Pathfinders were able to complete their assignments and the camping program continued as previously planned.

A special thank you goes out to the Lopez, Makowski, Pappas & Whitley families for driving to the trailhead. Thank you pathfinder Jenny and parents Sandy, Todd and Paulo Pereira for taking beautiful pictures from the hike. Of course we cannot forget the support of pastors Carmen Ibanez and Darren, and all the parents and the grandparent who climbed the mountain with us. It was truly a team effort.

Outreach at Loma Linda Ronald MacDonald House

Ronald MacDonald's House We were blessed with the opportunity to help those in need at the Ronald MacDonald House in Loma Linda. It was a blessing to see each pathfinder cheerfully working in the kitchen: cooking pasta, making sauce, decorating the cupcakes, mixing the lemonade, preparing the salad and cutting the bread. A special thank you goes to teacher Kim Knowlton for baking all the cupcakes we decorated for the outreach. ~*~
