What a fun time it was, and what a wonderful weather... The Pathfinders once more enjoyed the beautiful scenary of Santa Barbara and Goleta, CA. Some Pathfinders were not able to go with us this year but the ones who did we are pretty sure they enjoyed it very much. Enjoy the pictures! Here is a letter from Director Mike: Dear Pathfinders and Pathfinder Parents, I hope you all have had a good week. I was proud to see all of you participate during our El Capitan campout. All the cooking, dishwashing, and camp duties were done well. Your tents were neat and tidy (for the inspections at least). You all have used your camping skills to set up and properly put away the tents and camping equipment. Most of all, you took the challenge of being responsible not only for yourselves but for each other. It was nice to see the beauty of the beach and surrounding hills, all your smiling faces, and watching each of you cook your bread on a stick meal!! A special thanks goes out to the Ashlock family ...

Presidential Fitness Click on picture for photo album Congratulations to all Pathfinders who accomplished the "Presidential Level" in the Presidential Fitness Challenge. The Physical Fitness Test recognizes the participants for their level of physical fitness in five activities: Curl-ups, Shuttle run/walk, Pull-ups, V-sit reach. Completing all five activities is an accomplishment and we are proud of all of you Pathfinders.

Rock Climbing Click on picture for Photo Album The Pathfinders had a lot of fun this last Sunday (March 20th) at Tresh Hold Climbing and Fitness Center in Riverside. About 20 Pathfinders participated on this activity and all of them were excited learning how to belay and tie proper knots into their harness. We all learned how to trust each other since we had to "let go of the wall" and hang from the rope while our partner at the bottom would slowly lower us.

Recent Activities of the Club Here are the photo albums from some of the most recent activities of the Club: January 2011 meeting Game Night Ski Day March 2011 meeting During our March monthly meeting the Pathfinders learned some camping skills that will be very useful not only for the upcoming Spring camping activity in Santa Barbara (El Capitan State Beach Campground) but also for the rest of their lives.

February 2011 meeting Click on picture for Photo Album The Pathfinders had a very productive meeting tonight. They started with games directed by Mark Perkins. After the games the meeting started with the introductory activities and then they divided in groups and finished the honors they started during January's meeting. All Pathfinders are now ready to help others by performing first aid care, knowing what to do during a disaster and having good manners with everyone. 20 Mile Bike Ride Click on picture for Photo Album Last Sunday (Dec 12, 2010) was a beautiful day. The weather was perfect with temperature in the middle 70s, perfect for the bike ride. For those of you who joined us congratulations for completing the 21.2 miles. Consider this as a training for the 50-mile bike ride to take place on Sunday, March 20, 2011 (in place of rock climbing). This will complete the requirements for the Cycling Honor. NEXT ACTIVITIES Caroling at Grand Terrace When: Sabbath, December 18 @ 2:00 pm Where: Grand Terrace neighborhood. We will be joining the church outreach group in this activity. You have the option of coming to church at 2 pm (meet in the Fellowship Hall) or staying after the 2nd church service for a potluck lunch. If you are planning on staying for the potluck, please bring a dish enough to feed 10-15 people. It could be an entree, salad or desert. Attire: Class A uniform (formal uniform). December's Monthly Meeting During this meeting we finished the honors started during the November meeting. Explorers (12 y/o and above): Flower Arrangement Co mpanions (11 year olds): Cake Decorating Friend (10 year olds): Decoupage Also, during this meeting Pathfinders were split in smaller groups. Each group elected a leader and chose a name for the group.

Mission Inn Run 2010 Click on picture for Photo Album Dear Pathfinders and Parents: Today's Mission Inn Run went well. The weather was nice (although the runners of the 10K and 1/2 Marathon did have to battle some winds), and everyone finished without any injuries or mishaps. Congratulations to everyone who ran! We had several top finishers in our ranks: Summer Medina (Explorer) - Finished 3rd in her age group (13-17 y/o) for the 1/2 marathon Gary Ehlert (Contributor) - Finished 2nd in his age group (70-74 y/o) for the 1/2 marathon Jenny Makowski (Explorer) - Finished in the top 100 of all women runners in the 10 K race Vivian Makowski (Parent) - Finished in the top 100 of all women runners in the 10 K race Sandy Pappas (Parent) - Finished in the top 100 of all women runners in the 5K race Thank you to all the parents, friends, and church members who showed their support by running/walking or cheering (Paulo and Nery Pereira, Kris Harter, Dee Elias, Diane Thompson, Ed Dinger, Ernie...

November 2010 meeting Click on picture for Photo Album Dear Pathfinders, We had a full meeting tonight. Just 3 of you missed the meeting. A big thank you to the class intructors Val Magakat, Kim Knowlton, and Debbie Powers and all the parents who helped. Everyone came away with a craft well-made. We ate a beautifully decorated chocolate cake for our late supper and we have a beautiful flower arrangement displayed on our piano. See you at the Mission Inn Run. October 2010 meeting Click on picture for Photo Album October 6th meeting Our monthly meeting of Oct 6th had great attendance. After the opening exercises Pathfinders were divided in smaller groups/teams of 4-5. Each group will pick a name and by the next monthly meeting the groups will be assigned different responsibilities such as leading the opening exercises. Since the biking honor was completed last Sunday at Lake Perris, the Director Mike and Deputy Director Mark taught Pathfinders a new game called Ladder-Golf. As indicated in the Calendar of Events, the Pathfinders will be playing this game as a pre-meeting activity between 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm.
