Dear Pathfinders and Parents:

Today's Mission Inn Run went well. The weather was nice (although the runners of the 10K and 1/2 Marathon did have to battle some winds), and everyone finished without any injuries or mishaps.

Congratulations to everyone who ran! We had several top finishers in our ranks:

Summer Medina (Explorer) - Finished 3rd in her age group (13-17 y/o) for the 1/2 marathon
Gary Ehlert (Contributor) - Finished 2nd in his age group (70-74 y/o) for the 1/2 marathon
Jenny Makowski (Explorer) - Finished in the top 100 of all women runners in the 10 K race
Vivian Makowski (Parent) - Finished in the top 100 of all women runners in the 10 K race
Sandy Pappas (Parent) - Finished in the top 100 of all women runners in the 5K race

Thank you to all the parents, friends, and church members who showed their support by running/walking or cheering (Paulo and Nery Pereira, Kris Harter, Dee Elias, Diane Thompson, Ed Dinger, Ernie and Keri Medina, Corey Knowlton,Thomas & Vivian Makowski, Sandy Pappas, Mark and Darlene Perkins - and Kaytor, Luis Chinchay, Nanci Choi).

I especially enjoyed watching Chloe, Julie, and Gaby support Hannah in her first big activity since her eye surgery. It was nice to catch up to Cindy and Moriah and chat a little (they were taking a breather right before the big push in the end). I didn't get to see Julia and Kara after the race started because they just left us behind! Good job girls!

Then there was the group up ahead (Kaylee, Josh, Jake, Michelle, Emily, Corey, Sandy, and Nanci) who finished ahead of us and cheered us on when we got to the finish line.

I enjoyed my "leisurely stroll" with Dee and Kris.We all enjoyed cheering the brave participants of the 10K and 1/2 marathon. Ed finished his first 1/2 marathon with a smile and a wave - he looked like he could've run another 13 miles! We almost missed Vivian as she zoomed to the finish line. It was fun to watch Jenny racing ahead of her dad, Thomas - who paced her, to the finish line! And a great big cheer went up when everyone saw Summer running full speed to the end of her race with her mom, Keri, right at her heels and her dad, Ernie, just a "few" minutes behind (ahem...).For those who I failed to mention, those who I missed seeing at the race, let me know how you did. I would love to hear your race stories.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
