Pathfinder Ski/Snowboard Day

Ski/Snowboarding Day Click on picture for Photo Album Hello Pathfinders and Parents! Wow! I really enjoyed snowboarding yesterday. I hope you did, too. The weather could have been better, but then again, it could have been worse. We had sunshine most of the morning and part of the afternoon. By 3 pm the visibility was very poor, but some of you just kept going! Brave ones! I hope you all had a safe drive back home (and are back in school today -- I'm back to work!). Michael and Thomas , you two are going to be great snowboarders some day. You're already leaving your parents behind! Summer , you get better and better every time you go skiing. Maybe someday you'll try snowboarding? Jenny and Gaby ...boarding part of the day and skiing part of the day...you showed that "you got skill" Chris -- well, you and your brother are the "terrors on the slopes" -- fearless just like your dad Emily, you are a good skier. You can keep up with the best of them. Maybe ...

February's meeting

Teacher Ernie Medina Jr. Assignment for next monthly meeting The February's meeting was very interesting. Teacher Ernie Medina presented nice techniques on how to take better digital pictures. The Digital Photography Honor continues in the next monthly meeting of March. In the meantime, teacher Ernie gave you all an assignment (see below). Take the pictures he is asking for and bring them to the next meeting. We are going to load them into the computer to view them.

Vespers and Game Night

Game Night Click on picture for photo album Dear Pathfinders and Parents, God blessed us with great weather for our game night. It was nippy and cold outside but once we got playing and running around, it was just right! A huge thank you to Mark Perkins for leading out in the games. Thanks also to Ernie, Thomas, and Jacob for playing their guitars and to Summer, Michelle, and Jenny for playing the piano for our vespers song service. Also, good job to each of the unit members who led out in their chosen songs. I'd like to also thank the parents who helped prepare the food, empty out the trash cans, and clean up afterwards.

Pathfinders at Mission Inn Run 2009

Mission Inn Run 2009 Click picture to see photo album Dear Pathfinders and Pathfinder Parents, I so enjoyed watching the pathfinders and parents run the 5 K race and the 1/2 Marathon this morning. We are grateful to those who came to cheer us on and take pictures -- Pastor Choi and Emily, Paulo, Kim and Javan... Thank you also to those of you who did not run, but who recruited people to run. All in all, we had 34 people sign up for the different races through our club. Close to 500 dollars was raised to help support our Azure Hills Pathfinder Club. Thank you for your participation and involvement! We congratulate Summer Medina for finishing 1st in her age group in the 1/2 Marathon race. Recognition also goes to Gaby Makowski who placed in the top 100 women in the 5K race. Kudos to everyone who walked, ran, and most importantly, finished their races. Silverwood Lake Camping

Silverwood Lake 2009 - Click on picture to see more the photo album Pathfinders who attended this last weekend's camping trip will never forget the experience. The camping was going well as planned, pathfinders had done their hiking in a beautiful day with a perfect weather, and once back in the campground on Sabbath afternoon we all got surprised by an enormous smoke cloud coming our direction. After discussing the possibilities and not knowing how far the fire was from our campground, the leadership decided to transfer the camping location to our church's "campground" (Fellowship Hall). Pathfinders were able to complete their assignments and the camping program continued as previously planned.
